one day national level seminar on “Stress
Management in Corporate Sector: Issues and challenges” was organized by the
department of Commerce and Management in association with Mysore University
Commerce and Management Teachers’ forum on 18th September 2013.
Seminar was
inaugurated by ShivakumarSwamiji, Sri Adichunchanagiri mutt and
Dr.M.G.Krishnan, Vice-Chancellor, Karnataka State Open University, Mysore. In
his inaugural address, he said stress is posing a greater challenge to human
resource management in corporate sector. Dr.P.S.Yadapadithaya, Register,
Mangalore University, MangalaGangotri, Mangalore has delivered key note
address.
Dr.B.H.Suresh,
Dean, faculty of Commerce University of Mysore, ManasaGangotri, Mysore, and
Dr.M.,Shivalingegowda, President Federation of Teacher councils of Commerce and
Management in Karnataka were the chief guests. The seminar was presided by the
Sri.N.Chaluvarayaswamy, MLA, Nagamangala constituency. Prof.K.S.Devaraju, HOD
of Commerce and Management welcome the gathering. Prof.K.M.Swamygowda,
Principal was present on the dais.
The first
Technical session started at 11.30am, the topic of the session was executive
stress. The session was chaired by Dr.H.Nangegowda, Principal, Yuvaraja’s
College Mysore. The speakers were Dr.Manika gosh special officer Dept.of
Collegiate Education, Bangalore and
Dr.Jabakumar, Merit Matters, Director, NIPM, Karnataka chapter Bangalore.
Dr.M.Mahadevaiah, Associate Professor BasudevSomani College, Mysore. Acted as
Rapporteur the session was facilitated by Prof.Rajendra, Associate Professor
and organizing secretary of the seminar.
The topic for
the technical session II was work life balance. The session was chaired by the
Dr.S.Ramesh Dean, Faculty of Commerce and Management P.G. Centre, Mount Carmel
College (Autonomous) Bangalore. The speaker was Zane Custon, chief mentor, Academy
for skills and knowledge, U.K. His presentation was so good and mind blowing.
Dr.B.K.Lokesh, Facilitated the session.
Paper
presentation session was started at 2.30P.M. 80 papers were presented at two
parallel sessions. The sessions were chaired by Dr.B.G.Bhaskar, P.G centre,
Vivekananda College, Bangalore, and Dr.K.V.Suresh, JSS College, Ooty Road,
Mysore. Rapporteurs were Dr.Jagannath, Shanthi College, Malavalli, and
Dr.M.Jayappa RBANMS, First Grade College, Bangalore.
Finally the
programme ended with valedictory. Dr.Jagadesh professor & chairman DOS and
research in commerce Karnataka State Open University, Mysore delivered
valedictory address Sri MarithibbeGowda, MLC, South Teachers’ constituency and
Dr.C.R.Raju, president, MUPCTA, Mysore were the chief guests. Dr.N.S.Ramegowda,
CEO, SAC Shikshana Trust (R.) Adichunchanagiri Kshetra. Presided over the
function. Prof.Rajendra welcomed the gathering. Dr.M.Mahadevaiah and
Prof.Ramachandra read the rapprteurs report. Prof.K.S.Devaraju, proposed vote of
thanks. Prof.K.M.Swamygowda, Principal was present on the dais.
The seminar was
so informative and educative. 250 participants were participated and 80
participants presented their papers on various sub-them of seminar topic. 15
resource person took part in the seminar. The seminar was well organized and
most successful one.
